Train The Painter is an internationally recognised training programme which is accredited and approved by Lloyds Register. The training has been developed by industry experts in response to the strong demand for certifications within the industrial coatings industry.
There are three modules:
Delegates are awarded with a Trainee, Bronze, Silver or Gold card depending on the modules completed and experience in protective coatings.
Identification
You must bring along some form of photographic ID. Please note this should be government issued e.g. Driver’s license or passport.
Fitness
Candidates must be physically fit and able to demonstrate practical skills. If you have any special needs, please let us know as soon as possible.
Prerequisites
Protective Coatings Applicator is a mandatory module of the Train The Painter programme.
The module is a combination of theoretical and practical sessions. Delegates will be assessed throughout the practical exercises and complete a multiple-choice test.
Upon successful completion of the Train The Painter - Protective Coatings Applicator module, delegates will be awarded with a bronze card or an orange trainee card.
To be granted the bronze card delegates must have worked in the protective coatings industry for more than 1600 hours.
If 1600 hours have not been completed, delegates will receive an orange trainee card. This can be upgraded to the bronze card if an employer provides evidence of work to Lloyds Register. Further information can be found on the Train The Painter website.

Abrasive Blast Cleaner and Spray Painter are modules of the Train The Painter Programme which can be completed to obtain a silver or gold card.
The module is a combination of theoretical and practical sessions. Delegates will be assessed throughout the practical exercises and complete a multiple choice test.
Candidates must complete Protective Coatings Applicator and Abrasive Blast Cleaner or Sprayer Painter.

Train The Painter - Gold combines all three modules of the Train The Painter programme.
The course is a combination of theoretical and practical sessions. Delegates will be assessed throughout the practical exercises and complete a multiple-choice test for each module.
A gold card will be awarded upon successful completion of the practical exercises and multiple-choice tests.
