MAGNETIC FLUX LEAKAGE

SNT-TC-1A & API 653 Annex G

Magnetic Flux Leakage level 1 & 2

Candidates will have the opportunity to use the various magnetic flux leakage techniques to inspect ferromagnetic storage tank floors to determine the level of corrosion present.

The MFL method is not limited to surface-breaking or near-surface flaws, but actually becomes increasingly sensitive to far-surface flaws with increasing levels of magnetisation.
